Portfolio and Investment Management Strategies

Most investment studies suggest that proper asset allocation -- or how you divvy up your assets among stocks, bonds, and cash--is what drives a portfolio's return as well as its volatility. How one establishes the optimal mix is a dynamic process, and plays a key role in determining one's portfolio's overall risk and return.

As such, we work with our clients to create a portfolio asset mix that best reflects their individual goals and objectives and help them to understand how changing markets, life events and the inevitable passage of time may necessitate the need to periodically rebalance one’s allocation mix.

We’ll help you to recognize the various asset allocation techniques and the differences between tactical and strategic asset allocation.  We'll review the best ways to choose the investments to fund these allocations and the myriad of choices that are available.  We'll evaluate whether you should choose individual holdings within a separate account or participate in a mutual fund that features a well-diversified asset allocation mix. We’ll discuss the selection of funds that are based upon a certain risk tolerance, as well as those that are age based or automatically rebalanced as time goes by.

Though the underlying principles of modern portfolio theory and post modern portfolio theory may involve more than you care to learn about, our experts are available to answer your questions and will help to explain many of the models and/or asset allocation funds that we employ in our investment portfolios.
